Johnatan Wiener aka Viner

Born, raised and still lives in New York City. I'm absolutely amazed by his art and consider him one of my favourites.
First painting by Viner that i saw was 'Dark Descends' and right away i thought about Pre-Raphaelite painter John Everett Millais and his 'Ophelia'. To me the mood in both paintings is absolutely the same. No question about it. Wiener has an incredible style that is very modern, but has this "old, traditional" touch in it.
His paintings are disturbing, dark and toned with green color straight out of morque.
We all feel lonely and hopeless sometimes and it's good to have it pictured so vividly in paintings.
Johnatan Wiener (pseudonim Viner) - artysta urodzony i nadal mieszkający w Nowym Jorku. Jest jednym z moich absolutnie ulubionych malarzy.
Pierwszy obraz Vinera, ktory zobaczyłam to "Dark Descends" i od razu pomyślalam o malarzu z grupy Prerafaeltów Johna Everett Millais i jego "Ofelii". Wiener ma niesamowitą zdolność tworzenia stylu, który jest niezwykle nowoczesny, ale jednocześnie ma w sobie bardzo silne akcenty tradycyjnych mistrzów malarstwa z XIXw.
Jego obrazy pokazują to co nas niepokoi, z czym walczymy, to co w nas mroczne. w jego obrazach świeci chłodne światło jarzeniówek. Ale dobrze jest wiedzieć , że nie jesteśmy sami z naszymi demonami.

Born in Okinawa, Japan, but currently living in Tokyo. She made her US debut in a group show at project:gallery in L.A. this year. She has extremly unique style creating dreamy world full of delicate women (with their eyes always closed), cakes and cute animals. But there is a huge dose of erotism that makes these paintings complete, just like icing on the cake.

Cherri Wood aka Fy Simone

18 year old artist based out of Milwaukee,Wisconsin. She is primarly using watercolor and ink technique. It is absolutely fascinating how she creates this very moody, 'on the edge of nervous brakedown' atmosphere in her illustrations. Women that she draws are breathtakingly beautiful, but their eyes are watery and i'm sure one time they were concidering slitting their wrist. Phenomenal.

Posiada niezwykłą umiejętność tworzenia atmosfery w swoich pracach (zazwyczaj zbliżonej do napięcia tuż przed załamaniem nerwowym). Rysuje piękne kobiety, które wyglądają tak, jakby były na granicy płaczu i miały niejedną próbę samobójczą za sobą.Fenomenalne.

She is one of my favorite, recently discovered artists from Mexico City. Her work is unique, witty, very sexy, almost perverted :) and very diverse. She makes paintings, embroidery, draws illustrations inside women's high hills and makes short art videos. Along with Gary Baseman she designed a limited - edition line of clothing that is so .. well.. filthy, that it would really require guts to put it on. Amazing! She is having her solo show called Senti Mental Bestiary at Fingered Gallery in New York opening June 7th. Definitely someone to keep an eye on!
Amor Munoz - młoda, utalentowana artystka z Mexico, D.F. Maluje, haftuje ilustracje na ubraniach i papierze, tworzy rysunki w środku kobiecych szpilek i kręci krótke art videos. To sztuka odważna, niezwykle zróznicowana i baaardzo erotyczna (niekiedy na granicy perwersji). Razem z Gary Baseman zaprojektowała linię ubrań (edycja limitowana), z tak sprośnymi haftami, że założenie ich (zwłaszcza w Polsce) wymaga "cywilnej odwagi". Przejażdżka tramwajem lub imieniny cioci byłyby niezłym wyzwaniem :) Jej najnowszy projekt zatytułowany 'Senti Mental Bestiary' będzie prezentowany w czerwcu w nowojorskiej galerii.
